This course introduces the student to the basic principles of biochemistry including protein chemistry, carbohydrate chemistry, nucleic acid chemistry and lipid chemistry. Various metabolic processes will also be introduced which include carbohydrate metabolism, protein metabolism, and lipid metabolism. The metabolic processes that occur at major organs in the human body will also be covered.
