Acupuncture Points and Functions

This course will introduce students to the topography of the 12 regular meridians and the acupuncture points on each of these meridians. In addition, the meridian pathways and acupuncture points of two of the principle extraordinary vessels will be introduced. The course will be part didactic and part practical with an emphasis on learning detailed meridian topography and anatomical point locations. It also provides a comprehensive explanation and exploration of the acupuncture point functions and classifications. Commonly used points and important points are examined more thoroughly in terms of their names, locations, natures, indications, characteristics, and needling techniques. All other points are covered in slightly less detail with an emphasis on their clinical usage.
